Using a simplified approach to the 'Strut and Tie Model', design a simply supported reinforced concrete beam element to carry ultimate design loads as shown in Figure Q4. Any assumptions made in the design process must be stated clearly. The beam is to be 1200 mm deep and have a breadth of 350 mm.
