The json file must be its own file and should only include json. The index.html should change the number 1 in sel to 10. DO NOT USE PHP

can not run sel.json when it is coded as sel_data='[{"sel":1}]'; i get errors on the sel.json file when I change the file. when I run the html code nothing happens regardless if I use the original sel.json or the modified one
