A hire-purchase contract is basically an agreement wherein an owner agrees to hire goods to the hirer with an option for the hirer too purchases the goods. The hire-purchase Act was passed to regulate the form and contents of hire-purchase agreements and to define the legal rights, duties and liabilities of hirers, owners and other parties to hire-purchase agreements and to make provision for other manners connected therewith and incidental thereto.
