The measurements are summarized as: R=5cm; I=1.599 A; AV=251V Together with the known radius of the coils and number of windings the magnetic eld strength can be calculated based on the current above. Then with voltage on the gun and the measured radius of the circular beam the e/m ratio can be computed. (6) Determine the electron charge to mass ratio based on the measurements above. Does it agree with known values? After making the video above I decided I could've done the radius measurement of the beam more accurately using a pen to line up my eye better with the ruler. The new results I got were: R = 5.05 cm; I = 1.627 A; AV : 301 V (7) Determine the electron charge to mass ratio again based on these new measurements. Did I get any closer? It might interesting to speculate where things didn't go quite perfect in this difcult set of measurements. (8} Speculate what measurement you think might've contributed the most to the determined elm ratio disagreeing with known values
