The more predominate shortcomings exist in the fact that at startup there will be very few resources existing for research and development and marketing. This lack of ability could be a serious hindrance. Therefore, the owners must be creative in finding cheaper yet effective methods of conducting research such as through the internet and speaking with other restaurant owners to obtain any data possible. Also, the internet and word of mouth advertising can be useful and less financially burdening tactics.
