The most commonly used screening test for detection of Diabetes Mellitus is Fasting Blood Glucose (FBG) test. However, like almost all screening tests, this test is not 100% accurate.

In order to evaluate the FBG test carried out by a specific device: 'OneTouch Ultra 2' meter, a more rigorous test is used (a gold standard), which is the Glucose tolerance test.
