When choosing a breach for your assignment, choose one that has adequate technical details available publicly so you can reconstruct and analyze the breach. The breached organization chosen is preferred to be Canadian or operating in Canada. Start your assignment report with a brief introduction about the organization. Then, move on to the details of the breach. Your report must include a detailed technical description of the breach. In addition to your detailed analysis of what happened that led to that breach. In addition, youre expected to compare the technical details of this breach to one or two breaches of similar technical nature. Finally, your report must conclude by a detailed description of your proposal to prevent this breach from happening again. Your report should contain the seven (7) sections noted below: Title page Introduction Summary of the breach Technical Details of the breach Comparison to similar breaches Short- and long-term impact of the breach Proposed corrective action. References Sections Description Title Page Your name, course, section, date, the professors name, the name of the company. Introduction (1 to 2 paragraphs) A brief description and background of the organization you have selected. Summary of the Breach (1-2 pages) Provide a chronological overview of the cybersecurity breach incident. Explain what occurred, the type of cybersecurity incident, what data was stolen and what steps the organization took. Technical Details (2-3 page) Provide details of technical steps the attackers took to achieve their goal of the breach.. Comparison to similar breaches (1-2 pages) A brief comparison to other breaches of the same technical nature. Show the similarities and differences. Short- and long-term impact of the breach (2-3 pages) In this section, youre expected to give details of the impact of the breach on the organization on both the short-term and the long-term. This includes financial, technical, legal, and reputational implications. Proposed Corrective Action (2-3 pages) In this section you propose corrective actions that could prevent the breach from happening again. This is expected to be a collection of actions, not a single action.
