The objective of this assignment is to encourage students to independently analyze a current economic issue. The analysis could include discussions answering questions such as how has it happened, why is it happening, what are the measures that can be undertaken to improve the situation, are the actions taken up by the local government the best solution and any other aspects that you would like to look into.

(a)Find a published article pertaining to any macroeconomic topic or any other macroeconomics topics from the ones listed below (dated within the last 6 weeks).

(iii)Unemployment.

(b)Provide the link or reference of the article and do the following exercise:

(i)Summarize it in one or two paragraph(s) and explain the main issue discussed in the article.

(ii)Share your views on why this issue is being discussed or highlighted publicly in that article. What is it so important that it needs to be highlighted?

(iii)Do you agree / disagree with the writer? Provide at least 3 reasons why you agree / disagree. You can also include statistics in your answer to support your points.

(iv)End your work with some insightful suggestions on how the situation can be improved.
