The objective of this exercise is to develop skills to plan in a practical way, according to the needs of the users, the departments and the effectiveness of the organization.I'm Juan del Pueblo and I recently resigned from the Autoflex company, where I held the position of Human Resources manager for ten years. I resigned to carry out this same position at the Auto Company, in which I must restructure the workforce, since it is not well organized and has problems with staff turnover and productivity. The decision to resign was a difficult one, as I was used to my job at Autoflex. However, I accepted the Auto Company's offer because of the challenge it presented. As soon as I started working at the Auto Company, I conducted a job analysis of all employees in each of the company's departments. The results by department were the following:Production departmentThe director of the Production Department, Pedro Pérez, does not plan production, but rather does his job haphazardly. It does not take into account the preferences of consumers or the orders of its customers, the dealers. Pedro Pérez orders the cars according to what he understands can be sold.Every six months, the Production Department informs the Sales Department of the number, types, colors, and specifications of the cars they will produce. The manufactured cars are stored for sale on a piece of land near California. We currently have 100,000 cars waiting for sale. This means that the Auto Company has an inventory that represents $600 million. It should be noted that the warehouse is outdoors, so over time, the cars will deteriorate.Sales departmentSales director Luis Ocasio, who has been with the company for twenty years, has a strategy to reduce existing automobile inventory. At the end of each month, the Sales Department offers special discounts to dealers for cars in stock.Unfortunately, dealers already know about Luis Ocasio's sales strategies and don't order cars until the end of the month so they can order them at discounts. This means that dealerships take advantage of the discount strategy, which affects Auto Company's profit margin.Marketing DepartmentThey do everything according to the marketing strategy without taking into consideration the production and sales departments.
