Constraints are:
Each job requires one skilled worker, and takes the time in days shown in the activity box.
A job cannot be done any more quickly than the time given, even if extra workers were able to be added.
Work is to proceed on an 8h/ day, 7 days/week basis, and company policy does not allow any overtime.
Company practice is to complete any activity once it has been started - activities cannot be split into a number of separated sub-activities and done non-consecutively.
Draw a reasonably scaled Gantt chart for the shutdown project. Show the available float on non-critical activities.
Produce a Resource Aggregation Diagram in Excel showing the utilisation of workers. Determine the number of spare worker-days available each period and total during the project.
The maintenance manager received phone call and told you the day before the start of the shutdown that two of the workers are not well and are not available for the first 3 days, and another is sick during days 4 to 6, and no replacement worker is available. Analyse the impact on completion time and resource utilisation. Draw a revised Gantt Chart/Resource allocation diagram using Excel and upload your answer.
Note: you are not required to re-draw this diagram, nor to draw a table. All that is needed is the 3 charts using Excel and uploading file with analysis as detailed above in sections a, b and c of this question.
