The press department of an automobile manufacturing facility runs two main operations, each with its own press machine: front-plate press operation and rear-plate press operation. After the front- plate is completed, it moves to the second plate. The service time in the front-plate press operation is distributed Unif (1, 5) minutes, and in the rear-plate press operation it is distributed Unif (2,6) minutes. Plates (jobs) arrive randomly and their inter-arrival times are exponentially distributed with mean 5 minutes. Simulate 150 jobs arrivals (assume there are no shifts and the process runs for 24 hours a day). At an ice-cream factory, the inter-arrival time of full ice cream containers is normally distributed with a mean of 30 seconds and standard deviation of 2.5 seconds. The containers are sealed with a machine and it takes a uniform distribution of minimum 25 seconds and maximum 35 seconds. An automatic inspection is carried out on the seal (the distribution is constant of 5 seconds). If the container is perfectly sealed, it is send to the next department. Otherwise it is sent back for rework. Historical data shows 90% of the containers are perfectly sealed. Simulate this model and determine how many containers can be processed in 1 hour.
