Bill v. Adedas
Bill Smith grew up in the Western area of Belt-air, in Santa Monica California in the 1970s, but his family moved to New York when he was young.
Bill has been a salesperson for Adedas, the athletic footwear company, for seven years now. As the leading salesperson in his category, he was transferred to the flagship store on 5th Avenue in New York City two years ago. Bill loves working on 5th avenue and he is very proud of his accomplishments. He tries to set the example with his younger colleagues by arriving to work on time and greeting customers promptly as they walk into the store.
Bill sure knows how to sell a shoe, especially to concerned high-school parents that worry about their children’s comfort and foot protection on their long walks to school.
Adedas recently announced the introduction of a tennis shoe with wheels, the roll-dedas, to compete with the famous Heelys. As a marketing strategy, the company announced that Roll-dedas will be introduced in high-end stores first, including Bill’s store on 5th avenue. Adedas has high expectations for the roll-dedas as they are hoping they will rejuvenate the brand’s image.
Last week Bill received a notice from his boss that he would be transferred to the Bronx store. The transfer coincides with the introduction of the roll-dedas. Bill was devastated that he would not take part in the introduction of the innovative product they had all been waiting anxiously for. When he asked about the reasons for the transfer his boss was evasive about the question and mentioned some internal problems with the sales front team at the Bronx. This was surprising to Bill, as there had never been any concern about the Bronx’s store performance in the past.
Bill has had trouble sleeping for the past few nights, and his wife convinced him to pursue legal action. Bill found a qualified team to help him remedy the “wrongdoing” he accuses his company of pursuing.
