  1. Identify and list three workplace resource requirements.

Resources can from these

  • Financial resources - money, credit lines, loans etc.
  • Physical resources - premises and equipment
  • Human resources - employees, external consultants and contractors
  1. Take part in a meeting with the relevant stakeholders to determine more information on each of the resources you identified in Question 1. This will be performed as a role-play activity. Your assessor will allocate you into groups. Each learner will play the role of a different stakeholder.

Your discussions should:

  • Determine the nature and level of the resources required, including timeframes
  • Use language appropriate to context and audience.
  • Negotiate with relevant personnel to acquire resources

  1. Using the information you have gathered from the stakeholder discussions, develop three different plans outlining how you intend to acquire and allocate each of the three resources.

Within each plan, you must consider:

  • Any relevant legislation and/or workplace policies and procedures
  • How you can implement strategies to maximise efficiency of resources
  • Relevant risk management procedures
  • Application of cost-benefit analysis
  • How to work towards required timeframes
  • Any negotiations which took place with relevant personnel to acquire resources
  • Process for monitoring resource use against budgets and business objectives.

  1. Imagine that each of your three plans had been implemented; one successful, one not so successful, and one somewhere in between. For each instance, write 1 page report which details:
  • The level of performance achieved
  • Any adjustments to the plan to achieve the business objectives
  • Recommendations for resource usage improvements.
