The similarities among the five bases of power can be found right in the description, they all area specific type of power, "the capacity of one person A to influence the behavior of another B, sothat B acts according to the wishes of A" (Robbins & Judge, 2019, p. 437). The differences comein when you look at power as two main types or groups of power, in which the five bases aresub-groups. The first group is formal power which is based on an individual's position in anorganization and can come from the ability to coerce or reward, or from formal authority.
