You are excited and very hopeful the three of you will be assigned to the same 4-person chair lift. There are only 13 other people on the trip, besides you and your two friends. So, you are hoping for good odds!

1. Calculate the probability the three of you (you and your 2 friends) are randomly assigned to the same 4-person chair lift.

2. Explain, as if telling a friend, the reason for the math you used to calculate the odds of sitting with your two friends in the chair lift.

3. Write to share your thoughts about the probability you and your friends sit together. Was the probability higher than you expected? Lower than you expected? Explain.
