The success with the Scout Night is very smart because these are kids who know no difference between right and wrong. Teaching them critical knowledge at a young age will bring crime rates down severely when they are adults. This can also feed into recruitment, maybe one officer can change their life and their dream becomes to be a Police Officer. Proving that this program is durable. The Ride-Along Program will show numbers being successful but this is because the community signs up for this willingly. So these are individuals who already support the department or want to make a change in their life. The department should target those who are against and don't understand life on the other side. Find a way to "make" them want to join on a ride-along to understand. Once the department finds a way to target that audience I believe it will become successful and lower crime rates as well
