The two PMLC models we'll be addressing in this study have certain similarities and contrasts in their project management styles, techniques, and practises, as well as the sequencing of the five process groups: scoping, planning, launching, monitoring and controlling, and closure.

Adaptive PMLC Model This model is a variant of the APM method and contains little information about the resolution. It also lacks the functional part of searching for a solution. This method is utilised in construction management when dealing with extremely complicated, out-of-the-ordinary, and one-of-a-kind projects. This model falls between between the Incremental and Radical models because it deals with a higher level of uncertainty in the solutions available to satisfy the project's planned goals. There are four distinct adaptable models.

Extreme PMLC Model - This is the most complicated model and is best suited for research and development projects. It is a process that requires a high level of client engagement and is utilised when neither the goals nor the solutions are known, and the phases repeat all process groups in a linear way (Wysocki p. 464 2009). This model employs both the xPM and PMx methods and is dubbed "extreme" due to the difficulty of initiating or completing a project with so many unknowns. Each step in this paradigm learns from the preceding one and is constantly altering and adapting itself in order to fulfil some future goal or target. The xPM model has three key properties that are explained.
