The unfortunate thing for us, business wise, is that we did not have a mentor. All we had in the local area was competition, and some of it fairly steep. The previous owner did commit to provide limited support for about three months. While this was helpful, looking back, it was not enough. More of his time would have made our life easier, especially in the beginning.

If you can reach out and try to find a mentor. A mentor would be extremely helpful even before you launch the business.
