The United States – and the world – are now experiencing events unparalleled in the recent past. Such events require extremely high levels of executive functioning and higher-order thinking in terms of coming up with potential solutions and, at the very least, plans of action. At the same time, the U.S. is currently in a presidential election year. There are but two candidates left standing. Donald Trump is 73 years old. Joe Biden is 77 years old. Given what you know about cognitive development in late adulthood, discuss whether you think Americans should be concerned about the age of our presidential candidates, bringing in aspects of neuropsychology (brain-based changes), cognitive psychology (memory-based changes), intelligence, and mental disease. You may think we should be concerned. You may think we should not. 

After providing your rationale as to whether or not we should be concerned, list and discuss several reasons that folks who take the other viewpoint might argue as support for the opposing argument.
