The United States is becoming increasingly diverse, and many companies and organizations employ a global workforce and serve multiple communities. Therefore, being aware of varied perspectives is an important part of a corporate or general organizational plan. Whitfield (2023) offers many statistics about the importance of diversity in the United States and in the workforce. These statistics include that diversity in management leads to increased revenue and that women and underrepresented ethnic groups continue to face challenges at work regarding discrimination, harassment, and unequal opportunities, compared to their male or White counterparts.
