The Unity Union (After this known as \"the Union\") want to invite their employer to commence a collective bargaining process. Jane, who is the Union's secretary made an invitation through a phone call and informed the employer that they want to set up a meeting to bargain on the following matters: i. training to enhance skills and knowledge of the workmen ii. annual review of the wage system iii. promotion by an employer of any workman from lower grade to higher grade iv. transfer by an employer of a workman within the organization The Union secretary worries because she did not receive any feedback almost three weeks from the employer whether to accept the invitation or not. Ahmad who is the Union's leader knew about the situation and informed Jane. Ahmad told Jane not to be worried because the employer has no right to reject the invitation. Besides, Ahmad also explained to Jane that the employer must reply within 21 days of the invitation, notifying acceptance or otherwise. If the invitation accepted, collective bargaining must commence within 60 days of receipt of acceptance. Jane believed all the information given by Ahmad since he is a trade union leader. Thus, Jane patiently waiting for a reply for the invitation. Jane is a decent employee. She has been working with the company almost 5 years with a senior management title. She shows up for work on time, meet performance goals, and generally won't give any reason to be red. But one day, she received a notice of demotion without any prior information. From a senior manager to a non-executive position and changes of job scope really make her so demotivated. She claimed the employer has breached the contract of employment.
