The ventilated PV fac ade at Mataro near Barcelona comprises a vertical PV array of multi crystalline silicon modules of 1 4 % nominal efficiency.

The ventilated PV facade at Mataro near Barcelona comprises a vertical PV array of multi crystalline silicon modules of 14% nominal efficiency. A ventilated gap of 14cm is formed between the outer PV modules and standard interior double glazing (with U value 2 W/m2 oC ). At a particular time, 300 W/m2 of radiation is incident on the PV (which has =0.8) and as a result the PV module stabilises at 38 oC. The interior room temperature is kept at 20 oC. If the air temperature at a point within the facade is 24 oC, calculate the temperature of the inner and outer surface of the double glazing at this location.
You may assume that the convective heat transfer coefficients on the inside surfaces of the ventilated space are both 4 W/m2 oC, the radiative heat transfer coefficient between the PV and the double glazing is also 4 W/m2 oC, the convective heat transfer coefficient from the double glazing to the room is 2 W/ m2 oC.
Also calculate the main energy fluxes (ie into the room, into the ventilation air, and total losses to ambient.
