These save-to-buy apps were designed to connect to the consumers bank account to automate monthly savings toward purchases. For example on Cashmere and Reel, purchases selected by users from their product catalogs are 'unlocked' once enough is saved. Both companies work with retailers to curate their catalogs. Meanwhile on Hype Jar users earn cash to spend with a selected retailer as they save. 

 

There's also After-Pay and Klarna that has become really popular in the last year. What this service provides is an accessible way of purchasing goods as you would with a credit card, without the interest rate and the hard hit on your credit score. Installment payments are set for the customer to pay off their purchases.
