There are different types of penalties that can be imposed for breaching the Universitys Student Academic Integrity Policy. They include warnings, the completion of additional tasks, the deduction of marks, the resubmission of tasks, failing courses, and exclusion from the University either for a short period or permanently. You will not necessarily only receive a warning if it is your first offence. In cases where the academic misconduct is detected after graduation, it is possible for a students degree to be withdrawn. The more severe penalties are usually reserved for very serious cases, and/or students who have breached the policy more than once.

If you are found guilty of academic misconduct, and it is your first offence, the only penalty that can apply is a warning.
