There are many reasons to encrypt information - both legal and illegal. In recent years, there has been a great deal of debate about the use of "back door" access. In June of 2021, we saw over 800 arrests world wide because authorities were able to intercept over 27 million messages from criminals using a network they believed to be encrypted and secure.
