There has been criticism in recent years that the United States is too complimentary to our children, students, employees, and colleagues. We have a culture where students are told that "as long as they try their best" that is all that matters, and we reward grades of Cs with ice cream sundaes. In most competitions we have second, third and fourth place "winners" and we have corporations where almost everyone's title is Manager or Vice President.
