There is in need to design an armchair for a local furniture company. The armchair should be designed with lightweight materials (e.g. wood, hard fibers, Medium-density fiberglass), reasonable cost (e.g. simple connections, normal finish). comfortable seat (use high quality sponge or cushion fabric), and a feature allowing user to hold a drinking cup. No plastic materials can be included in the arcmchair which would increase cost. The designed armchair after trial and use test should support S person with maximum weight of 260 kg. The chair back support width is calculated based on health requirements and found to be 68 cm, and arm rests (hand supports) should be made from high quality sponge and fine leather.
