These essay options will be based on our reading of McCann's novel Apeirogon and connected to the themes and topics of the course. This is an exploratory essay that expands our understanding of the context of the novel. McCann takes many sideroads in his novel to tell his readers about real things happening in Israel/Palestine. Choose one of these details and explore it beyond the text in order to provide a deeper background to reading the text. This essay will require research beyond the text into some aspect(s) of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and context in order to give fuller meaning and significance to the novel.
