Think for a moment if these characteristics that make for a good public speaker are also some of the same characteristics that make for a good conversation? Maybe you put some things that don't apply (like dressed professionally, practiced their speech, had visual aids), but I bet you had several that do. For example do you like to talk to people who make eye-contact with you? How about people who are knowledgeable? Have a good sense of humor? Someone who talks directly to you and makes you feel like you matter? What items on your list would also make for good conversation? 3.
