Third shift workers often have a hard time adjusting their sleep patterns to accommodate being alert at work and sleeping during the day. In a Harvard study, 200 shift workers were randomly divided into two groups. In this double blind study, one group received Provigil and the other a placebo. During the study, 29 of the 100 workers taking Provigil verses 36 of the 100 workers taking the placebo reported accidents commuting to and from work. Test the claim that there is a difference between the accident rate of workers taking Provigil verses those taking the placebo
