  1. This activity question will need to be observed. The assessor has a checklist of criteria they will base your assessment on. If it is not possible for direct observation, you may submit a video recording of this for assessment. This must be discussed and arranged with the assessor prior to the role play.

In a role play, you must take on the role of the manager communicating with your team.

Following on from activity question one, in a meeting, communicate your three plans to your team. You should explain each one to them and then seek feedback from the team about their roles, responsibilities and performance targets as relevant to each plan.

You must interact professionally and positively to encourage engagement and team participation in the meeting. If there are any communication barriers, seek ways to overcome these; for example, you could ask questions, or you could discuss concerns and show empathy for team members.

You should explain:

  • The organisation's objectives, goals and performance targets (as relevant to each plan)
  • Roles, responsibilities, tasks, role development and any organisational changes.

You should then seek feedback from the team and make a note of any suggestions and changes they make. Discuss any changes you could make as a result of this with the team, making sure these are in line with organisational goals and work requirements.
