This assignment requires you to do research on how to obtain an ISO image of a forensic operating system or triaging tool and create a bootable thumb drive using the tool: During this assignment, you will be writing a how-to guide that will be shared with future employees All software used, current versions of specific software used, website's where software was obtained, and steps for each phase should be included. (pictures are always helpful in guides, but they are not needed Some example of tools you can use for this assignment: Paladin, DEFT, OSForensics, Knoppix, SIFT, CAINE Again these are suggestions and through research you can use what tool you find/ or find interesting You can use static or live abatable tools of your choice for this assignment. Whatever tool you choose to use please follow the steps accordingly The following is a provided method on how to approach the assignment: Part 1: Research your choice of forensic operating system or triaging tool and download that tool One of the main tools used to format the drive and install the forensic ISO of your choice it will be using the Rufus utility https://rufus.ie/ During the process of creating the thumb drive, you may also wish to write a how-to guide or you may do so afterward. The how-to's are less likely to be missed if you write them as you go along Part 2: As part of this process, we will actually format the thumb drive and install the ISO. To learn how to do this, you will need to familiarize yourself with Rufus You will be writing down the steps you took as you do the exercise Test the thumb drive, because it has to work for full credit. (For some tools you may have to enter the bios and change the booting section to thumb drive). For these tools please be careful when entering and changing BIOS settings if you are not familiar with it). To prove the tool is working provide a screenshot of the tool operating: Whether it be a static operating tool (so basically making sure you are in the forensic OS, and provide a screenshot of the home screen of the tool) or live bootable/ triaging tool (of one of the features of the tool) The point of this exercise is to get experience with looking up tools, creating them and writing detailed instructions. Reminder: This is basically a How-To-Guide, so imagine you are writing this for new employees with limited to no experience in the field. Think about how you would teach individuals on performing this task successfully. Please keep your guide to no longer than 5-7 pages Make the guide comprehensive and follow the following structural guidelines.
