This assignment uses the data fileTelco Extra. This data file concerns a telecommunications company's efforts to reduce churn in its customer base. Each case corresponds to a separate customer and records various demographic and service usage information. The data file contains the data on about half of the customers of the company, selected at random. In order to maintain the privacy of the customers, the identifying information (specific address, Social Security number) was stripped out.

The income data was purchased from an outside vendor. The telecommunications company would like to get a better understanding of customers who churn, as well as predict the income of a customer so that the company need not spend money purchasing the income data from an outside vendor.

Examine the 34 variables in the Telco data file in terms of their labels and values. Develop a research report to include the following components.

  1. Introduction of the purpose of your paper. You should write this section after completing components question 2-6.
  2. Provide a brief introduction, in about half a page, of the Telco data in terms of 1) the purpose of the data collection effortyou will need to explain churn and income, 2) data collection method (Experimentation? Self-administered survey? Personal interview? Or existing data?), 3) the study population (i.e., who does the sample represent?), 4) sampling in terms of sample type (probability/random or non-probability/non-random), and 5) sample size.
  3. Describe the sample characteristics in terms ofage, years at currentaddress, gender, level ofeducation, income, marital status, region, custcat, andchurnof the respondents in the sample based on the results of descriptive statistics you perform on the nine variables.
  4. Choosechurnto be the dependent variable in two hypotheses that you will establish. DO NOT USE ANY OF THE HYPOTHESES COVERED IN EARLIER MODULES. Each hypothesis should state clearly the direction of the relationship between the pair of variables. Now determine the level of measurement for each of your independent variables and the dependent variable (in terms of categorical/discrete or continuous/scale).
  5. Perform proper bivariate statistical analysis to test each hypothesis.
  6. Chooseincometo be the dependent variable in two hypotheses you will establish.
  7. Perform proper bivariate statistical analysis to test each hypothesis.

Report the statistical results observed regarding your hypotheses in existence, strength, and direction of the relationship. Did you uncover any surprises or unexpected findings? Do statistical results support your hypotheses in existence, strength, and direction?

Copy and paste any data, tables, or graphs into the paper and label each section clearly. Your well-written paper should include 8-10 pages of written material plus additional pages as needed to accommodate graphics. Follow APA format.
