This Capstone Project will analyze, identify and recommend solutions for the problem related to human resource and job design at Parts Canada London warehouse. This project will cover the health and safety factor provided which might be affecting the current workforce issue, hiring process and incentives/policies provided and implemented, standard working practices.

Problem/ Opportunity Statement;

According to the experience from the field trip and information shared through the company employees, the facility lacks required workforce especially during several specific months, fail to retain long-term employees. This report will focus on finding solutions to deal with the issue at hand and find alternate methods considering London being a student city which could provide a huge opportunity to fulfill the labor shortage time-to-time, improvement of the observed natural ventilation provided at the facility to maintain a healthy workspace atmosphere, providing recommendations to the hiring and financial (wages and incentives etc.), improving current work distribution standard and recommending safer option to access high storage locations.

Topic for Investigation ;

Through this report, recommendations will be made for the company regarding various issues. Firstly, data will be gathered regarding the critical issue of workforce shortage experienced by the company due to basic amenities, H&S work practices and work distribution, wages and incentives provided. All the existing risks and risks that could arise in the future will be identified. An efficient plan will be provided to tackle the operation and human resource management issues and to provide a better work-life balance for both workers and the management.

Methods ;

Each strategy has advantages and disadvantages depending on the desired outcome. First hand interview (in-person or telephonic) information Journal articles, corporate records, publications, and previous studies will all be assessed and used as sources of information for this study. The information gathered will only be put to use if it meets the requirements.
