This course has a Final Project that will give you the opportunity to analyze the marketing mix of a brand. You will look at the entire marketing mix for your chosen brand. This will give you an opportunity to see how all the elements come together in the business world. You will look at the product line and the brand's positioning, as well as its price, distribution, and promotion strategy. Using the information that you accumulate; you will synthesize your findings in a Final Paper due on the final day of the term. This project includes a written analysis and accompanying PowerPoint presentation. In no more than 6 double-spaced, typed pages in 12-point font (Times New Roman), you will respond to the following questions: Overall, how would you evaluate your brand's marketing mix? Is each element consistent with each other? Explain your answer with specific examples of consistency or inconsistency. Based on your examination, does your brand do a good, adequate, or poor job of serving the needs of its customers? Be sure to identify the target audience. What changes would you recommend? To the target audience: Should brand X consider adding new segments? To the product line: What line extensions would you recommend? New sizes, flavors, benefits, and so on should be examined. Would you recommend any packaging changes? If yes, what should those changes be? To the pricing: Is their pricing in line with their competition? Should it be? Is the brand being sold in the right outlets? Do they have enough channels? If not, what should they add? What changes, if any, would you recommend for the advertising in terms of message, execution, or media? Be sure to include references for any resources you use.
