This discussion board will include all discussion topics for this semester. Be sure when completing the discussion topic assignments to submit an initial post of 250-350 words that is responsive to the writing prompt, and also be sure to respond to at least two other students in each discussion topic. Jonathan Shattuck had exchanged emails with the owner of a home in Marion Village in Massachusetts for the purchase of the home. Prior messages included a discussion of a settlement date, and the seller emailed Shattuck: "I will agree to sell the house for your price of $1.825 million." The last e-mail from the seller stated: "Once we sign the P&S (purchase and sale agreement) we'd like to close ASAP. You may have your attorney send the P&S and deposit check for 10% of purchase price ($182,500) to my attorney. I'm looking forward to closing and seeing you as the owner of 5 Main Street, the prettiest spot in Marion village." Each email from the Seller included a signature block that read "Jason Klotzbach."

Before the buyer's attorney had a chance to draw up the purchase and sale agreement, the seller informed Shattuck that he was not going to follow through on the deal as he had another buyer who was willing to pay $1.96 million.

To complete this assignment:

(a) Craft an initial post that answers the question "do you think there is an agreement for the sale of 5 Main Street?" Be sure to explain your answer based on the reading assignment. Initial responses here should be about 250 words.

(b) See if you can find a Maryland case that is related to this one using Google Scholar by identifying key words that you think are relevant, and then searching for cases at https://scholar.google.com. Summarize the case and provide a citation to your source.

(c) After posting initially, review and respond to other students in the discussion forum. Do you agree or disagree with other students? Be sure to explain your response.
