This file $-$ the old MQ logo $-$ was encrypted in a slightly irregular way. In order to make the contents viewable as a bitmapped graphic, the bitmap file header is not encrypted, but the pixel array which represents the actual image is encrypted with a program I wrote for this specific purpose. It uses a DES encryption API $-$ a very ugly API $-$ in the Linux kernel.
