this is a ethical issue in business question. Jim, an entrepreneur holds high esteem in the society due to the values of integrity and the respect. He has painstakingly built a business over a period of time, which also employs people from the neighbourhood. In the past, he has been working on a business proposal, which was a lead generated through a very close childhood friend. As his hands are already full with other responsibilities of the existing businesses, he was looking for someone who could run this new business, when the proposal is through with the clients. He came across Ben, a very energetic business professional, who recently moved into the locality. Ben had experiences of leading businesses, and was looking for a new job. He had discussions with Jim on the possible opportunities. After much deliberation within himself, Jim invited Ben to lead the new business proposal, which eventually became a new business vertical. Ben gained the confidence of Jim and rose up to be his close lieutenant in a very short time. The business unit prospered under Ben's leadership. His charisma and the charm has made him very popular with the client and all was going well. On a fine day, Ben tendered his resignation to Jim and within a day handed over the responsibilities. Within next couple of days the key employees working in the new business unit also put down their papers and quickly moves out. To his surprise, Jim came to know hat the client revokes their contract with his entity. In couple of days, he came to know Ben has poaches his client and started a business with his ex-employees. Jim was shocked and devastated at the developments. While this is a breach of trust, Jim did not have formal agreements with Ben to stop him working with the client, he gained. Why did Ben break the trust? Was it greed? Or did it happen due to the quest for power again? Did he think of Jim and his efforts in building his business? Did he ever think of the relationship with Jim? Was there no conscience pricking for Ben when he cheated Jim
