GDB2083/ GEB2082 Assets Management in Malaysia Group Project Asset Decommissioning/Disposal Decommissioning and/or disposal of assets is one of the items in asset management plan. Asset decommissioning and abandonment discuss about how the asset should be removed from service, for example, how pipelines should be shut down and what clearance is required from any remaining structures or hardware. For this group project, you are required to study the decommissioning/disposal process for the asset that you chose. Conduct a desktop research and submit the following results: 1. An approximate 5-minute video presentation. Be creative in presenting your project such as using PowToon (to be uploaded to ULearn). 2. A 15-page to 20-page report (softcopy to be uploaded to ULearn). 3. Turnitin report (similarity should be least than 20%). The report/presentation should contain at least the followings, but not limited to: 1. What is the asset that you have select? 2. What do you understand with the term "decommissioning of asset"? 3. What are the processes involved in asset decommissioning/disposal? (abandonment planning, execution, and strategy) 4. Is there any regulation imposed for the decommissioning of the asset? (regulatory requirements, guidelines, and standards) 5. How much the cost will be involved, if any? (abandonment budgeting and financial reporting) 6. How to manage the risk during asset disposal?
