Through his powers as head of state, Napoleon reorganized the Institute, abolishing the Second Class of Moral and Political Sciences, until then a sanctuary for theIdologues, and he turned the terms "ideology" and "ideologue" into pejoratives, indicating that theIdologueswere visionary dreamers who had no understanding of practical political affairs.
