CIT 447 EIGRP Neighbor Troubleshooting Assignment In this lab, you are given a broken network. Your assignment is to fix the network. Make sure that all routers are able to establish EIGPRP neighbor relationships with the routers they are connected to and that all redundant paths are available. In this lab, you will need to resolve several EIGRP neighbor relation (layer 3) problems. The problems may include: Mismatched Subnets Mismatched ASN numbers Mismatched Authentication Tools and Materials: 1. GNS3 simulator 2. Broken topology running EIGRP Setup: The topology consists of four routers named: R1, R2, R3, and R4. The subnets used for the IP addresses are listed above each interface in the topology below. Each router is configured with routing protocol EIGRP and all the usernames and passwords for this simulation are cit494, and they are in clear text. The autonomous system number used is 1. Service password encryption is not used. The username and password for each and every router is cit494. R2 folo 10.0.0.0/26 SW 2 s0/0 so/1 172.16.19.4/30 172.16.19.8/30 R1 0/0 50/1 R4 s0/1 s0/0 172.16.19.12/30 R3 172.16.19.16/30 so/1 solo fo/o 10.0.0.64/27 SW 1 1 CIT 447 EIGRP Neighbor Troubleshooting Assignment All the layer 3 neighbor relation problems found in this assignment will be similar to the problems encountered in the EIGRP neighbor troubleshooting lab. IP Addressing and Subnet Requirements: The subnets that are configured on each link are listed on the diagram. Make sure all IP addresses match the subnets in the diagram. If choosing new IP addresses, use the lowest available subnet numbers. Use extended pings to test network connectivity. Each router must use the following: Routing Protocol: EIGRP Autonomous system number: 1 There are no ACLs used in this assignment. Test your network using the extended pings. For example: R3# ping 10.0.0.1 source 10.0.0.65 R2# ping 10.0.0.65 source 10.0.0.1 Helpful Commands: . . show ip int brief show int description show ip protocols show ip eigrp interfaces show ip route eigrp show ip eigrp show ip route debug ip eigrp packets CIT 447 EIGRP Neighbor Troubleshooting Assignment Answer these questions before you start trying to fix problems. They will help you in identifying and resolving many issues. These questions and your answers must be included with your assignment submissions (see submission instructions at the end of this document). Layer 3 Problems: Q1. List the interfaces and IP addresses of each router. Be sure to include subnet masks in dotted decimal or CDR format. Q2.On each router, what is the line and protocol status of each and every interface? Which interfaces are shut down? Q3. List the network (routes) that are being advertised in each router. Q4. What is the use of authentication and list the interfaces that are not configured with authentication? Q5. What is the autonomous system used in the topology apart from 1? Submission Instructions Create a single zip file that contains all of the following and submit that zip file on blackboard before the due date: The GNS configuration with all problems resolved. Be sure to include both the Assignmentl.net file and the configs directory. An rtf document that includes the following: List each problem that you resolved and include the following information How did you find the problem? Include commands that you used. Use something other than show running-config for your diagnostic commands. Tell what IOS commands you used to fix the problem. Include all parameters. Explain what specific issues you resolved by fixing the problem. Discuss any wrong turns you may have taken related to this problem. At the end of your document, copy each question from the assignment along with your answer. Format your document well. Readability counts.
