This is an urgent homework. I need your help with this as soon as possible. Let me know you need more information.
Option I: The Written Piece
Prepare a 7 page written response (or creative visual equivalent) that addresses one or more of the following questions to explore in your written final analysis. Note that you will be rated on the quality of your response and supporting evidence. You will not be penalized for choosing to focus on one question thoroughly.
Guiding Question(s): Select one of the following overarching questions to guide your written response:
- How are identities (i.e. religious, gender, ethnic, racial, class, sexual orientation, disability, and/or age) shaped by cultural and societal influences in contexts of equality and inequality?
- What historical, social, political, and economic processes have shaped diversity, equality, and structured inequalities in the U.S.?
- What social actions which have led to greater equality and social justice in the U.S. (i.e. religious, gender, ethnic, racial, class, sexual orientation, disability, and/or age)?
The Essentials (or put differently, remember to discuss):
- Your answer to the question(s)
- Your identity & positionality as it relates to your response
- How your experience connects to the themes you are addressing in your response
- Core themes from the course (cite where appropriate)
- Your analysis of the issues and themes addressed (don't just summarize; what are your thoughts, theories, connections, etc)
- Incorporate a "case study" or example by way of integrating insights/information on a Chicanx individual, a collection of works, a collective of scholars or activists (including social media activists, artists, etc), or a particular historical event.
- How the core themes you choose to address will impact your future goals toward creating a more just and equitable world (this is the "golden ticket section" - don't ignore it!)
Option 2: The Visual Piece
You have the option to have complete creative control with regard to HOW to accomplish this and where it makes most sense to integrate it into your paper (beginning, within the text, or conclusion). It must be your original work. Some ideas include:
- a social change model presented as a workbook
- a thematic poster series
- a comic story book
- a children's book
- a series of worksheets for a specified audience that illustrates concepts or ideas discussed
- a collection of poems, paintings, collages, mixed media, graphic art created by you
Your work must address one or more of the following questions. Note that you will be rated on the quality of your response and supporting evidence. You will not be penalized for choosing to focus on one question thoroughly.
