Excellent analyzing of sine function! When relate unit circle to those cosine propertyr values, think about the definition of these properties. For example: Amplitude is 1, so as the radius is 1 on the unit circle because both Amplitude and radius are length/distance from midpoint to minimax. Can you do this in the same fashion for relating period, domain, range, and x-intercepts to the unit circle values. Also, range is supposed to be 3; value in the interval [-1, 1]. Please resubmit. Thank you. 4. 056 Analyzing the sine and cosine Functions Choice # 1: Describe each of the following properties of the graph of the cosine function, fled = cos ( e) and relate the property to the unit circle definition of cosine . - Amplitude - Period - Domain - Range - x- intercepts . Amplitude : The amplitude of the function above is 1. There's maximum value of i and a minimum value of - 1. Which means that the wave will be located between the minimum and maximum values. According to the Unit circle, the amplitude is located half the radius of the circle. . Period : The function is a periodic function. The function will always repeat itself after every point. 2 ( IT ) of f(0 ) = cos ( e). Meaning that after every negative or positive 2 (TT ) , the same curve will occur once again . . Domain : All real numbers, since there is not existent restriction of e. . Range : [-1, 1] is the range; the cosine function take turns between - 1 and 1 . . X-Intercepts: Because cosine is a periodic function, the graph will cut the x-axis Infinite number of times. X-axis at TT /2 , 3TT / 2 will be cut along with more at the positive side . X-axis at - IT / 2 , 3TT / 2 will be cut along more on the negative side. So when combined the x-intercept becomes IT2 + X IT
