Eihcono International is the name of the organization for which I will be developing a framework. The headquarters of Eihconos are in New York City, but the company has branches all over the United States. They also have branches in the United Kingdom, Japan, and Germany. The aim of Eihcono is to provide network hardware to companies and businesses. They provide everything a business needs to have a successful network. Eihcono carries everything from routers to modems to firewalls and servers. They not only sell hardware, but they also assist other businesses in setting up networks if one has not yet been developed.
The WBS I developed for Eihcono seeks to enhance the user interface and database, which includes details about the company's inventory, clients, and order management. I want to make the database keep track of all that is stored there, including all stock and customer information. I also plan to create a user interface that is simple to navigate so that consumers can quickly locate their desired items.
• Identify the problem: 3 days
- Talk with administration to identify what they want with a new database
and UI
- Meet with veteran workers for feedback on what could be added,
improved, or removed
• Obtain approval: 2 days
- Meet with management to discuss the need of a new database system and
UI
- Discuss the cost of the project as well as the benefits that it will bring
• Plan and monitoring: 5 days
- Decide what functions should be added, removed or improved from the
current database
- Identify how many people are needed for the project
- Issue customer satisfaction surveys based on user experience
- Identify how long it takes for customer’s to place orders
- Monitor how employees currently use the database
• Design the system: 14 days
- Design GUIs that are simple and quick to navigate.
- Add features to the UI based on customer satisfaction feedback
- Add/Modify features within the database using feedback from employees
- Determine what features need to be implemented first
- Create a way for frequent updates to occur on both the database and UI.
• Build and Test: 60 days
- Begin creating the user interface
- Start rolling out new features and modifications to the database system
- Have employers test the new systems and record any feedback
- Use the feedback during testing to continue to improve the systems
- Repeat the testing and improvement steps
• Complete System tests and deploy the solution: 20 days
- Make final adjustments to the UI
- Continue improving and adding features to the database
- Call for final testing of the UI and database
- Deploy product
The project is expected to take 104 days to finish. This is not a firm deadline, and it can be reduced or extended depending on the needs of the staff. For all of the new additions and enhancements, the project would cost about $65,000. The salaries and prices of the employees who will be working on the project are also factored into this cost. Depending on how much time is spent on the project, this figure could easily rise or fall. Since much of the work on the project is time-sensitive, it is important that staff manage their time effectively. “Making the best use of the time, because the days are evil,” says Ephesians 5:16-17 (ESV).

- Define the system requirements of the company and the deliverables this project will facilitate.
- Facilitate Agile Time Management
- Develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in Microsoft Project.
- Proper time estimations are necessary.
- Develop a minimum of 15 scheduled items that manage the deliverables of each project phase.
- Be sure to include resources, owners, time estimations, etc.
- Facilitate Agile Cost Management
- Use the same Microsoft Project document.
- Provide appropriate cost estimations for the completion of each project deliverable.
- Estimate the labor costs and hours to complete each task within your Microsoft Project WBS.
- Estimate the basic equipment and systems solution costs for the implementation of your Capstone Project.
- Financial analysis should include calculations like NPV or similar methodology.
