This project involves researching two of the following pieces of legislation: The Controlled Substance Act, The Federal Mine Safety and Health Act, The Civil Rights Act, Americans with Disability Act, and The Indian Child Welfare Act. Based upon the information that you find on the internet, your textbook, or other sources provide the following information: Part I: What was the purpose of the legislation? When was the legislation passed by Congress? Part II: What are the major provisions of the legislation? What individuals or organizations in our society are impacted by the provisions of this legislation? Part III: For each piece of legislation that you select, answer the question--Do you agree with the provisions of the legislation or do you believe that there are additional provisions that should have been included in the legislation. Be specific in your answer to this question.
