Personal Portfolio Website/Webpage Project If you are presenting yourself as a developer or a designer, your personal portfolio website/webpage will display your creativity, knowledge and expertise. The prerequisites for this type of project are highly variable. A developer having the knowledge of basic HTML, CSS and JavaScript or a developer having highly advanced web development skills can build this project.
In your personal portfolio, it is advised to add the following things about you, your work samples, your past experiences, a link to download your resume and your social media handles.
To do this, you will create four (4) HTML Files, one (1) internal or external CSS File and one (1) internal or external JavaScript File. Requirements A homepage is the introductory page of a website that usually acts as a table of contents for the site. On this page you should have access to the basic information that is found on your site. The index page is always named index.html, serving as the home or welcome page. You will create an HTML page that includes all the content in a proper arrangement in preparation for creating a CSS and JavaScript files/layout. The Personal Portfolio will have four (4) sections on the HTML page Home, About, Skills, and Contact.
Index.html page will require:
h1, h2 headlines
Home page or welcome text of at least 100 words
One (1) photo in the main content area
Hyperlinks Make sure you have examples of working hyperlinks.
Update and add metadata see information listed below
Update Header Update h1 and banner image
Update Footer Update all content, see information listed below
Update sidebar or aside Includes all content such as social media, text and photo You should also include:
A title in the title bar.
A clear focal point with one image.
Your name.
Your ID number
Basic links to email/social media.
Other background information.
The text and the links should be formatted using an internal/external CSS and internal/external JavaScript pages.
The links should include some sort of rollover effect.
Effective use of images, color, and typefaces (CSS).
Comment the codes with at least four comments.
JavaScript code/file for displaying a greeting to the user based upon the current time/date.
JavaScript code/file for contact information (embedded page) Other considerations:
Choose a design that best fits your needs; photographs personalizes and adds a nice touch to your website.
Create a gallery of at least 5 -10 images.
Embed a hyperlink to each image that takes you to the website that the image was take from (optional).
