This question is a sholl free-response question Show your work for each part of the question. You may consider doing all your work by hand on a sheet of paper and submitting if as an image or file not to this question, Make sure your name and today's date are in the upper right corner. A neighborhood has recently installed speed bumps that resemble small hits. After many cars lose contact with the road, the community has decided to change the speed limit. With your new physics knowledge, you are assigned to do some calculations to determine whicher the car will lose contact with the road at the top of the hill as it travels under specific conditions and to determine a new speed limit. The road is shown below. Stop Sign 12 m/s 5 m 20 m 10 m The speed bump is a hill that rises 5.0 m above the nat region. The top of the hill is a circular arc of radius 20 m. There is a stop sign 30 m from the beginning of the hill. You are to assume that a car or mass 1400 kg accelerates unifionly from rest at the stop sign, has a speed of 12 mi's when it reaches the beginning of the hill, and then coasts with the engine off. Assume that energy losses due to friction and air resistance are negligible a Calculate the magnitude of the acceleration of the car during the first 30 m. (2 points] b. Calculate the time it takes the car to reach the beginning of the hill. (2 points) C. Calculate the magnitude of the net force required to accelerate the car during the first SU m. (2 paints) d. Suppose the car travels over the hill without losing contact Identity the forces acting or the car at the top of the hill, Note the direction as if you were creating a free-body diagram. (3 points) e Consider the situation where the car momentarily loses contact with the road at the top of the hill Calculate the minimum speed the car must have to achieve this (3 points) f. Determine the speed the car must have at the beginning of the hill in omer to have the speed at the top of the hill you calculated in part (e) Then make a claim on what the community should set the minimum speed limit to on this road Briefly explain your reasoning. (3 points)
