This question relates to Project 1. You will need the Project 1 documentation and access to the relevant volume of the Building Code of Australia.

You are required to undertake a BCA compliance check for the dwelling in Project 1. Present it in a format which is easy to follow and understand.

When you are checking compliance against a document such as a Standard or the Building Code of Australia, it is useful to present your information in a table. This makes it easy for you, or anyone who picks up your document, to follow your assessment. An example of the headings you may want to use is shown below.

As a minimum, you are required to check BCA compliance of Project 1 against the following areas:

• Fire safety
• Fire separation
• Smoke alarms
• Health and amenity
• Room heights
• Facilities
• Light to study and Bedroom 3
• Ventilation to ensuite and Bedroom 4
• Safe movement and access
• Stair construction
• Balustrades

Ensure you include what Class of Building Project 1 is and what volume of the BCA you have used to check compliance. Also include a list of Australian Standards that would be applicable to Project 1.
