Fallure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions: Air bag deployment Personal injury 0 Unnecessary SIR system repairs In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines: 0 Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring. 0 If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in the workshop manual. 1. Understand and Verify the Customer's Concern: The first part of this step is to obtain as much information as possible from the customer. Are there aftermarket accessories on the vehicle? When does the condition occur? Where does the condition occur? How long does the condition last? How often does the condition occur?
