This week we need you to really think about the different main roles in your chosen dilemma, particularly the CHILD, the PARENT and STAFF/DIRECTOR. These ERC steps below are discussed are in the Newman and Pollnitz (2005) reading. You will make a post that includes these steps of the ERC: Legal aspects - here you would consider whether there are any legal aspects to your ethical dilemma (Regs). If not then consider EYLF, NQS, UNCRC and the Code of Ethics. What specific aspects of these documents support the rights of the different roles of the dilemma (child/parent/educator) and make this dilemma more complex. Remember this is a discussion so build upon your peer's posts. This is informal, just explain what EC documents you feel might be relevant to your dilemma for each role - what made the dilemma complex as each role has rights. You do not have to use references - the journal entry is where all your references will be used for support. Ethical principles (autonomy, beneficence, etc., check Newman & Pollnitz) - here you would think about what ethical principles you feel each role might wish to consider when trying to work towards a resolution that would be in the best interests of the child. Tell us what each role might like to be considered when the list of actions is being developed. You would then respond to some of your group member's posts- As you explore UNCRC and other EC documents in relation to your dilemma, see if you can think of articles/outcomes/goals, etc., that might relate to your group members' dilemma. Or you may agree with an ethical principle or perhaps feel other principles might be also considered in your group members' discussion. Or you might respond thoughtfully to your group members by posing questions that might help them add depth to their discussion. Remember to be positive in your responses and mindful of your group members' feelings
